Severe Weather Outbreak in the Deep South Today

A very dangerous day of severe weather is unfolding in the Deep South today. A high end moderate risk of severe weather is in place and multiple tornadoes are expected with damaging hail and wind also in the forecast. This is the same storms system that brought North Texas active weather overnight.

RAINFALL TOTALS

Rainfall totals from last night and early this morning were generous for some of us, but unfortunately not enough to put much of a dent in the ongoing North Texas drought. Radar estimates show a half inch was fairly common with a few locations to the east and northeast picking up over an inch.
