A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for North Texas as heavy rain continues to cause flooding problems. This warning includes Collin County until 1:00 PM.<\/p>\n

**Timing:**
\n– In effect until 1:00 PM
\n– At 10:49 AM, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across Collin County
\n– Flooding was also reported on SH 78 in northeast Collin County
\n– Between 1 and 2 inches of rain has fallen in southern Collin County, with more heavy rain expected for the next few hours<\/p>\n

**What to Expect:**
\n– Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms
\n– Flash flooding is ongoing or imminent
\n– Locations that may experience flash flooding include Dallas, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Richardson, Allen, Wylie, Sachse, Murphy, Prosper, Royse City, Anna, Fairview, Princeton, Celina, Lucas, Melissa, Parker, Farmersville, and Van Alstyne<\/p>\n

**Potential Impacts:**
\n– Flooding of small creeks and streams
\n– Flooding in urban areas
\n– Flooding on highways, streets, and underpasses
\n– Flooding in other poor drainage and low-lying areas
\n– Ponding on roadways is imminent or already occurring<\/p>\n

**What to Do Now:**
\n– Turn around, don’t drown if you come across a flooded road
\n– Most flood deaths occur in vehicles
\n– Stay away from river banks and culverts, which can become unstable and unsafe<\/p>\n
