A Flood Advisory is in effect for parts of North Texas through late this afternoon. Heavy rain from slow-moving thunderstorms may lead to minor flooding, especially in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.<\/p>\n

This advisory includes Tarrant County and western Dallas County.<\/p>\n

**Timing:**
\n– In effect until 5:30 PM<\/p>\n

**What to Expect:**
\n– Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
\n– Heavy rain has been detected by Doppler radar due to slow-moving thunderstorms
\n– Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have already fallen
\n– Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is forecast
\n– Areas that may experience flooding include Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, Richardson, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Mansfield, Euless, Desoto, Bedford, Grapevine, Cedar Hill, Haltom City, Keller, Coppell, Duncanville, and Hurst<\/p>\n

**Potential Impacts:**
\n– Minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas
\n– Overflowing poor-drainage areas<\/p>\n

**What to Do Now:**
\n– Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads
\n– Most flood deaths occur in vehicles
\n– Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads<\/p>\n
