Good morning. We\u2019re tracking a very typical North Texas spring pattern heading into this weekend – what we often call a ‘conditional’ setup. While the ingredients for severe weather are certainly present in the atmosphere, the ‘big question’ is whether they will come together in your specific backyard to trigger storms. Because of this, the overall probability of rain at any one location remains low, but that does not mean we can let our guard down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expect another warm, breezy, and humid afternoon. We\u2019ll see morning clouds give way to partial sunshine, which will help build the instability we need to watch. We are currently monitoring a cluster of showers and storms in southeastern Oklahoma; while those will dissipate before reaching North Texas, they are leaving behind an outflow boundary. That boundary will be the focus for potential storm redevelopment later this afternoon. If storms do fire, they\u2019ll likely track into our northeastern counties. Should they develop, they have the potential to become severe, with large, damaging hail, wind gusts exceeding 60 mph, and a non-zero threat for a tornado or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
