Strong thunderstorms are moving through parts of North Texas this afternoon and will affect Bosque, Coryell, Hamilton, and McLennan counties through 4:30 PM. The main concerns are wind gusts over 40 mph, half-inch hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning.<\/p>\n

**Timing:**
\n– Through 4:30 PM
\n– At 3:46 PM, strong thunderstorms were located along a line from near Meridian State Park to near Gatesville, moving northeast at 30 mph
\n– Near Meridian State Park around 3:50 PM
\n– Near Meridian around 3:55 PM
\n– Near Clifton around 4:00 PM
\n– Near Valley Mills around 4:15 PM
\n– Near Lake Whitney around 4:20 PM<\/p>\n

**What to Expect:**
\n– Winds in excess of 40 mph
\n– Hail up to half an inch
\n– Torrential rainfall
\n– Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning<\/p>\n

**Potential Impacts:**
\n– Tree limbs could be knocked down
\n– Unsecured objects could be blown around
\n– Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible
\n– Localized flooding may develop
\n– Lightning can strike up to 10 miles away from a thunderstorm<\/p>\n
